The jet fighter F-86E Sabre, which had been introduced in our air force in 1956, was the first jet that reached the speed of sound in our skies. Just few days after starting of the training on the new jets the power of the machines was demonstrated by sound that rips the air. This happened over Batajnica airbase in July 1956. The “Sonic boom” glorifies this legendary moment.
